About
Keith Umlauf
I am currently the lead for an Agile Delivery organization that focuses on team and portfolio delivery, Agile Transformations, and DevOps and Cloud Enablement projects. I've led large IT projects in the Financial Services, Retail, Life Sciences, Consumer Goods, Department of Defense, and Government industries. After 10 years of waterfall software delivery, I started with Scrum in 2005 as a Product Owner Proxy on some US Air Force Research and Development projects. I contributed to software process definitions for my company’s intellectual property and what eventually grew to a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 4 practice. Along the way, I found a niche in client-facing roles translating operational requirements to Product Owners for multiple teams. As I learned more depth on the delivery lifecycle, I transitioned from requirements to Program Management where I oversaw up to 6 Scrum teams delight DoD clients. I’ve been an Agile Subject Matter Expert (SME) on several successful programs articulating the proper balance between Scum delivery teams at the project and portfolio levels within regulated and often Waterfall enterprises. I enjoy continual improvement and try to live up to being a constant learner.
