James Kutz has been practicing Agile for more than 10 years, shifting from coaching roles to leading technical teams as a Scrum Master and Delivery Manager. He currently works for SolutionsIQ as an Agile Coach. Before joining SolutionsIQ he worked at the Economist as a Delivery Manager, leading a global initiative to transform their eCommerce and subscription management capabilities. He also spent 3 years at NBCUniversal where he first coached teams to transform their Digital Products team, guiding them through organizing around a common process, and created consistency in how they plan, manage, measure, and execute their work. Additionally he helped institute a common agile framework that was used across the company. He left for a short while to do a project at McGraw-Hill Construction then re-joined NBCU as Implementation Manager, leading rollout of common content management, Identity Management, and Video streaming platforms. Before that he held a variety of roles at The McGraw-Hill companies where he led the rollout of a social-media platform for business readers, as well as several re-platforming initiatives and site re-vamps for BusinessWeek.com and other related media sites. Besides his love for software development, he also enjoys traveling, architecture, and exploring the ever-changing landscape of Brooklyn, NY where he has lived for the past 20 years.
