Dean Kynaston
After graduating from Brigham Young University with a degree in Business Management (emphasis in Finance) and a Boise State with a Masters degree in Business Management, I've had the opportunity to work for several wonderful companies in many different roles from Idaho to Utah, to Idaho (with significant travel to Minnesota) and back to Utah. I started in an accounting position, but then quickly realized my heart was in technology.
My career in the IT industry is reaching nearly 20 years now. I've been involved in many phases and roles spanning IT Service Management (ITIL), Process Engineering, Account Management, Quality Assurance, Project Management, Organizational Change Management and most recently Agile (scrum). Scrum has been, by far, my most enjoyable undertaking. I've always struggled helping IT organizations improve their processes, deliver faster better cheaper, and having focused opportunities to mentor and coach talent. With Scrum, I've finally been able to conquer these challenges and build teams that are continually improving, delivering valuable working software and raising eyebrows with their speed. My favorite role is ScrumMaster.
I'm currently teaching Agile Project Management as an adjunct professor at the LDS Business College in the mornings before work.
I am the father of 8 children (3 adopted) and currently reside with my wife in Draper, UT.
