Hello, my name is Craig Bishton. I began my career in the financial industry, transitioned into the telecom then eventually into software development project management. I have 13+ years experience in project managing software development teams in both waterfall and agile environments and have been practicing agile since 2006. Agile just made sense in the context I was working in and I quickly learned that I wanted to spend the rest of my career learning more about, teaching others, and practicing agile.
I believe that agile is more than an alternative project management methodology and I am passionate about helping mentoring new ScrumMasters, training teams in scrum and kanban, transition teams from waterfall and iterative methodologies to agile practices, and coaching teams already using agile to harness agile as the competitive weapon that it was meant to be.
I consider myself to be a professional learner. In 2009 became a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), 2011 a Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), and in 2009 a Project Management Professional (PMP) but please don’t hold that against me. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Friends University, and actively working towards a Masters of Business Administration from MidAmerica Nazarene University.
