Karen Thomas

Karen Thomas is a Senior Project Manager at TechSoup Global, a globally-focused nonprofit whose mission is to help nonprofits utilize technology to further their own missions. She has instructed teams on how to best utilize Lean and Agile principles to manage and prioritize their work. Some highlights are:

• mapped out agile processes to manage workflow for dev op work
• led Scrum teams in successfully implementing new functionality on TechSoup.org, our flagship website
• introduced new agile tools to facilitate meetings and encourage more distributed leadership and decision making
• structured ongoing feedback loops to engage staff and continue process improvement
• coached non-technical teams on how to incorporate Kanban principles of visibility, WIP limits, flow and continuous improvement into their work

Karen is  committed to bringing all the best principles and theories of agile project management to the nonprofit sector. She is a certified Scrum Master and a motivated independent self-learner who is always looking for ways to improve.
