I refer to myself as a Change and Operations specialist because I have worked in operations and change management for the past 30 years in the Reinsurance and General Insurance business sectors. Building teams and managing teams across multple locations has been challenging. Ensuring that processes are optimised and skill sets are developed to create flexible resouring and long term sustainability.

Having worked with people in Sweden, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and the USA, I have had the opportunity to experience what it is like to work with various cultures.

How “Agile”are you?

Whenever I am invited to help facilitate change I recall the immortal words of Michael Jackson.

"I'm starting with the man in the mirror...Take a look at yourself, and then make a change".

In order to help bring about change in different environments for different groups of people impacted by different circumstances we, the Facilitator / Change Manager / Scrum Master may need to change also. Change the way we think, our approach and the words we use. Consider,  how capable are you of adapting your style to differing needs and circumstances in order to maximise your time with others to achieve a great outcome?

I urge you, before you embark on your next project, to take a look in the mirror and ask yourself, what do I need to do differently, and then make the change.
