Cengage Learning - August 2016 to present
Working as an Enterprise Coach helping with a large sustainable transformation effort. I am working with a team of coaches working mainly in the Technology space but have recently been expanding into the other areas of the company (including print and digital book creation process, HR, Finance, Marketing, etc.). Underlying everyone I have been focused on helping align the culture, strategy, and tactical approaches to meet the company values and goals while guiding leadership in their the behavioral growth needed to help sustain this evolution.
Altisource - July 2014 to July 2016
As an agile coach at Altisource, my focus is on the teams in Bangalore and how they work. They are using both Kanban and SCRUM approaches for frameworks tailored to the type of teams. I also provide training, am a scrummaster for a team, provide representation for best practices and agile principles. I also advise on the location's adoption of agile and the potential for the future.
American Student Assistance - Jan 2001 to June 2014
Over multiple releases of software, I was responsible as the release coordinator to work with the
development team to deliver to operations. The team used a SCRUM agile approach to deliver code
incrementally every 2-4 weeks. I was part of the decision and executing process when the code was
ready to be packaged for release. All of the releases involved the business product owners from
inception of changes to production allowing for incremental changes needed to meet the business needs.
I ran daily meetings (Scrum of Scrums) for all releases in the production pipeline. I was involved in
retrospectives for the sprints and provided feedback or facilitated the discussion depending on current
status of the release.
With all releases I am embedded on the team to help plan and then execute the release process. The
teams use an Agile SCRUM process to accomplish all development work. I work with them during their
sprints to enable them to meet the needed criteria and then to shepherd them to production as a release
package. This is done with the full involvement of the business product owners and operations. As an
embedded member on the sprint team, I attend the scrum meetings during the sprints that I'm involved
with as the coordinator. I am a full functioning member of the scrum team at those times. I also attend
planning sessions when needed to provide the release perspective. Part of my role was to facilitate
communication across all releases in the pipeline through a SCRUM of SCRUMs meeting. This helps
the team better prepare for the transition from development scrum team to operations staff as all the
releases start to integrate together.
