Slim Mesfar

Slim Mesfar is a computer science engineer since 2003. He holds a Ph.D. in Software Engineering from the University of Franche-Comté,  France (2008). 

During the period from 2003 to 2008, Slim Mesfar held the position of a R&D engineer in several projects at the University of Franche Comté in France. Then, until 2010, he held the position of Project Manager at Tunis International IT Development Company. Throughout this period, he used agile values and practices without knowing it.

Since the beginning of 2010, Dr. Slim Mesfar has been interested in agile project management and especially the Scrum Framework. Following a self-training, he became a Scrum Master within The Webside Company in Tunisia. Since 2012, he became a Certified Scrum Master.

During his work as a Scrum Master / coach agile (since 2010), he:

-             Made a real agile transformation in the Company (transition from waterfall to Agile development)

-             Coached team members on Agile processes and facilitated planning meetings and retrospectives.

-             Advised and coached Product Owners (since 2014, he is a Certified Scrum Product Owner, as well)

-             Tracked and removed impediments in order to maximize productivity

-             Helped team members to clarify goals and actions to achieve

-             Acted as safeguard for his team

-             Implemented Kanban in a support team

-             Explained Scrum to stakeholders

-             Ensured that all participants are respecting Scrum rules

Currently, Slim Mesfar is recognized as an evangelist of Scrum and agile project management values and practices in Tunisia. He is animating several conferences and workshops about these topics in professional as well as academic environments (paid and volunteer services)
