We may also utilize online whiteboarding tools (like Miro or Mural). More detailed information will be provided before class starts.

PDUs and SEUs

This course qualifies for Professional Development Units (PDUs) for PMP® certification renewal through the Project Management Institute (PMI), typically 14-16 PDUs for a 2-day course. It also qualifies for Scrum Education Units (SEUs) towards renewing your Scrum Alliance certifications.

Certification Exam Details

Upon successful completion of the course modules and live sessions, you will receive an email directly from Scrum Alliance usually that same day. Cancellation & Transfer Policy

We understand plans can change and will always do our best to accommodate you in an emergency. You will be offered an opportunity to reschedule in such events.

Key Topics We'll Explore:

This interactive course covers the core principles and practices of Scrum, preparing you for the Scrum Master role in today's dynamic environment. While we dive deep into many areas through hands-on activities, key topics include:

  • Agile and Scrum Fundamentals: Understanding the values, principles, and the complete Scrum framework (roles, events, artifacts).
  • User Stories: Techniques for writing, refining, and effectively slicing user stories for your backlog.
  • Estimation: Exploring various Agile estimation techniques and the reasoning behind estimation in Scrum.
  • High Performing Teams: Discussing team dynamics, effective coaching stances, and powerful facilitation methods.
  • Today's Scrum Master in the Age of AI: Leveraging AI tools ethically and effectively, understanding AI's impact on teams, and adapting the SM role for the future.

Each topic is reinforced through engaging discussions, practical exercises, and real-world scenario simulations relevant to the modern workplace.

Breaks & Q&A: The training day is structured to keep you energized and includes generous breaks. We typically incorporate a one-hour break for lunch around midday, along with two 15-minute breaks (mid-morning and mid-afternoon). Brian also typically stays online after the formal class ends for an optional open Q&A session for any lingering questions.

This Certified ScrumMaster® course is designed for individuals at all experience levels. Whether you're brand new to Agile or looking to deepen your existing Scrum knowledge, you'll find value here. No prerequisite knowledge is required - just a willingness to learn!

This course is ideal for anyone looking to understand Scrum and potentially serve as a Scrum Master. It's particularly beneficial for roles such as:

  • Project Managers
  • Business Analysts
  • Managers (Development Managers, Functional Managers, etc.)
  • Team Leads
  • Developers, Testers, and other team members
  • Anyone interested in leading the Scrum framework at a deeper level!

Course Expectations & Participation

To ensure a valuable learning experience for everyone and to meet the certification requirements set by Scrum Alliance, your active participation and presence throughout the entire course are essential.

We expect all participants to:

  • Arrive on time for the start of the course and after breaks.
  • Remain fully present and engaged during all course activities, exercises, and discussions.
  • Participate from a quiet environment conducive to learning, free from significant distractions.
  • Keep webcams on during course sessions to foster interaction and engagement (as per Scrum Alliance requirements for virtual training).
  • You are expected to behave in a professional manner. Anything that would get you in trouble with your HR department could get you kicked out of this class as well.
  • It is expected that you will always treat your fellow students with respect. If we receive a complaint, we will investigate and if supported, we will take action and remove you from the class.

Attendance Policy: Due to the highly interactive nature of this course and strict Scrum Alliance requirements for live training hours, participants cannot miss more than 15 minutes of the total combined class time. Missing more than this allocated time will unfortunately require you to reschedule for a future course date to receive your certification (additional fees may apply based on our transfer policy).

We look forward to collaborating and creating a fantastic, interactive learning environment together!
