In role as an active Scrum Master for multiple teams, juggling hats as a facilitator, lead, coach, mentor, trainer, and colleague, I help in stategically evolving processes and ceremonies to achieve better agility.  The firm is comprised of 10+ Scrum teams across 4 Scrum Masters, 3-5 teams under my guidance at any one time.  The principles of Scrum, competencies of project management, gleaned from my PMP designation, and a flexible and adaptive mindset help with the release planning aspects life in a virtual office world.

I became a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), having been an active team member in Agile projects.  Further, I also became a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) to garner a deeper understanding of 'the other side', but more importantly, to recognize the coordination and prioritization experience/skills I exercise on a regular basis.  I've effectively acted as the product owner on smaller, QA-centric products, such as test harnesses or automation tools to further the QA directive.  Being a Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), both CSP-SM and CSP-PO reinforces the experience and knowledge I bring to my teams.

The importance of a flexible approach, yet strong on principles, is key to a successful application of the Agile mindset, as many firms remain in the Agile 'in transition' phase for a long time, given other corporate initiatives, such as: shared services model, functional managers, regulatory/legal requirements, etc.
