Mike Vitale came to Scrum organically as a developer. It started with a death-march project. Figuring that There Had To Be A Better Way, he started researching different methods of delivering software. Early on, he read about Scrum and immediately started implementing it on the project he was leading at the time. Following the Scrum framework, he started by introducing the standard Scrum "Ceremonies" to his teammates. They liked the certainty that it gave them over their work. His management enjoyed the visibility it gave them into what work was being performed. He knew he was on to something.
After following the practices for a few years, he left that job and went into the world of consulting. As a skilled developer, he is able to bring these practices with him wherever he goes. Coming from a development background, he is able to connect with his Teams at a deep technical level. However, he never loses sight of the larger reason he's there. All projects have goals. Mike is certain that Scrum can help any team meet its goals.
Since then, Mike has worked with organizations large and small across the country to implement and improve their agile practices.
