Maxime Robert-Schreyers
About
After completing a masters in Physics at the U.L.B. (Université Libre de Bruxelles) in 2003, I decided to pursue a longtime interest and switch to software development.
I got my first job as a web developer at CITOBI, a Belgian company building custom web applications in Java / JSP. After a few years as Technical Project Manager there, I switched to consulting for another Belgian company, Outwares in 2006.
Following a mission as Functional Analyst at Smals, I was contacted by a recruitment agency seeking a Ruby on Rails developer for an Amsterdam based financial company, Faxtor (since bought by its mother company IMC, as IMC Capital Management) in 2007. There I mainly wrote a Real estate Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS) simulation application...in the middle of the Subprime-triggered credit crunch.
Having lost my job in Amsterdam following the Securities market crash, I went back to Brussels and helped start a Ruby on Rails Web development agency (redstorm) as Tech Lead. There I was in charge of setting the infrastructure, and of building and leading the development team. We based our practice on Agile precepts, mostly Scrum. I acquired the title of Scrum Master in 2009.
In 2010, my two partners decided to focus on other ventures and we agreed to phase out redstorm. I then switched to freelancing.
