I became a scrum master 4 years ago. It is one of the best things I did. I learned how to better run development teams and make more progress within an allotted amount of time. The first team I worked with did sprints and it worked really well for the developers. At times it was hard for me because of upper management not understanding agile. Once they saw how much progress was being made in my space compared to other development teams they decided to learn more about agile methodologies. That was a win for me. It helped me and them. I have another team of developers and we use Kanban. It is a better approach for them. I like how agile can be put into any team and it can work. Scrums are ran efficiently now. Sprint planning used to be a time where it was dreaded. Now it is a meeting for opportunities. Agile has become a point in my life where I am an example and a mentor.
