Ben Williams has many years experience in the financial industry, covering middle and front office functions. In 2008 he became CFA qualified.

He has a deep understanding of the investment management business coupled with a strong understanding of effective software implementation which facilitates a well-balanced generalising-specialist skill set.

After leaving the front office environment, Ben has been working with teams at institutional clients to deliver software efficiently while ensuring a high level of quality. Over the past 4 years he has worked as an Agile Coach, Scrum Master, Product Owner and Business Analyst.

Ben has firsthand experience in projects where agile had not been successfully implemented and coached teams to turn these projects around by application of agile principles and quality practices. This resulted in the client being able to release a product to live on a daily basis.

To support these agile roles Ben applies a number of techniques including ATDD, BDD and specification by example.

Ben has worked with Bank of America Merrill Lynch on a project which is their adoption of agile. Ben has coached 7 scrum teams across 3 world wide locations. Ben has worked with the teams from the start of their journey, implementing the framework continues to do so as the teams become self organising cross functional feature teams. Ben has worked with all members of the teams SM, PO and team members, in addition to business and technology stakeholders to coach their understanding of the scrum framework. As of 13 June 2012 c. 360 hours of effort.

Ben has worked with Man Investments over this period in a number of capacities, first as a team member, later with another team as a product owner and most recently as a scrum master and coach to a number of teams. The roles of team member and product owner were for the implementation of a vendor solution of the company middle and back office functions. The scrum master and coach roles were with teams during the consolidation of 2 operating platforms. c. 960 hours of effort.
