Annie Miller
About
Annie Miller has been working in Agile and Scrum since 2014. She started working in an IT environment as an analyst and trainer when her company, Target, converted from Waterfall to Agile. Her team was responsible for training the IT organization on what Agile was and how they would be forming Scrum teams. Annie was passionate about spreading the magic of Agile in an IT organization. It was here when she found her passion for Scrum and the role of ScrumMaster.
After training the values and practices of Scrum, Annie left to pursue her own ScrumMaster career. She got her CSM certification and immediately started as a ScrumMaster for Optum, a division of UnitedHealth Group. Optum allowed her to gain an appreciation for the role and to learn and grow in practicing her craft. She acted as a ScrumMaster for two teams for almost two years, working with a brand new team, and an exisiting team, building applications for internal organization.
After UnitedHealth Group, Annie moved on to Best Buy, where she currently works. Best Buy is a fully Agile environment with many mature teams, which challenges Annie to constantly develop her skillset and knowledge base. In this role, she gets to really get down to the details of Scrum, leading her teams and coaching them to become better, faster, and more self-organized. She has recently taken on an Agile Coach role with leadership to discuss how to scale Agile teams in the organization.
Annie's career was able to start by getting a solid foundation of the basics of Agile and Scrum. After training the philosophy and methodology, she was able to move to working with her own Scrum teams, then to guiding experienced teams to being even better, all while adding experiences and skills to her toolbelt. Annie truly has a passion for Agile thinking and for Scrum teams, and is looking forward to many more years becoming a wiser, smarter, more agile leader.
