About the Course

The two day Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) course, is an immersive learning experience involving a highly interactive mix of seminars, group discussions, team activities, games, simulations and role-plays.

Audience

This course is suitable for all participants in Scrum projects including Business Analysts, Developers, Testers, Architects, Project Managers, Product Owners and Business Owners. The success of your agile adoption may also require the understanding and support of Stakeholders, Senior Managers, operational staff and others who may find this course transformational to their approach to IT projects and product development.

About Certification

This Certified ScrumMaster course is the first step in becoming a CSM. Completing and passing the test will be the second and final step. This test is free of charge and must be completed online, up to 90 days after participants have attended the CSM course.

Upon successful completion of the test, participants will be enrolled as Certified ScrumMasters. This includes a 24 month membership with the Scrum Alliance where additional CSM-only material is available.

For Project Management Professionals, this course may qualify you for 16 PDUs as approved by the Project Management Institute.

 

About the Instructor

This Certified ScrumMaster course was taught by Rowan Bunning. Rowan is a Certified Scrum Trainer® and a pioneer of Scrum in Australasia. With a background in application and web site development, product development and eXtreme Programming, Rowan became Australia's first Certified ScrumMaster and first Certified Scrum Practitioner®. He has built extensive experience leading, coaching, and training organisations in Scrum across Australasia and Europe, including with one of the U.K.’s leading Scrum consultancies.

As a Certified Scrum Trainer he has a fantastic track record for running comprehensive and high value Scrum courses. His offerings include the two day Certified ScrumMaster and Certified Scrum Product Owner courses with associated accreditations with the Scrum Alliance. He also offers one day courses on Effective User Stories and Agile Estimating and Planning as licensed from Mike Cohn of Mountain Goat Software - author of the most popular books on these topics. Rowan holds a Bachelors degree in Information Technology, is a PRINCE2™ Practitioner, is Cognitive Edge accredited and is a trained Innovation Games® facilitator.

As the Scrum Alliance website says, “Students are expected to attend the CSM course with a working knowledge of Scrum. This knowledge can be obtained by reading books, articles, and web info about Scrum." A good place to start is with a paper from the Scrum Student Resources page.
