Types of memberships
Anyone who has attended a CSM, CSPO or CSD course and has become certified can join SCRUM ALLIANCE® as a certified member. Certified membership is included in your course fees for the first two years. After that, you can renew your certification for another two years by meeting the recertification guidelines.
We invite everyone to join the SCRUM ALLIANCE® community. Our basic membership level offers individuals who aren't Scrum certified access to sections of our website that aren't available to the general public, including an expanded profile, case studies, and the ability to read articles and participate in their discussions.
Basic members also enjoy discounts at certain events sponsored by the SCRUM ALLIANCE® and receive a monthly newsletter packed with the latest industry information. Sign up today and receive a two-year subscription for only $100.

Membership in SCRUM ALLIANCE® is offered to those who have earned certifications as Certified Scrum Master®, Certified Scrum Product Owner®, Certified Scrum Developer®, Certified Scrum Professionals®, Certified Scrum Coaches®, and Certified Scrum Trainers®. For Certified Scrum Master® and Certified Scrum Product Owner® courses, membership fees are paid by your trainer for the first two years,* although renewal and advanced certification fees are your responsibility.
Where do those fees go? Since 2008, SCRUM ALLIANCE® has been a tax-exempt organization under IRS code 501(c)(6) as a business league/professional association. As such, we do not profit from your membership fees. Instead, they go toward hosting Gatherings, running this website, supporting local user groups, and funding outreach, advocacy and education throughout the world.
We also offer a basic membership for individuals who aren't Scrum certified. It provides access to an expanded profile, case studies, and other materials. Basic members also enjoy discounts at certain SCRUM ALLIANCE® events and receive our monthly newsletter.
* Course attendees must be approved for certification by the instructor to be eligible for certified membership privileges.
