With Global SCRUM GATHERING® Minneapolis 2018 right around the corner, we’d like to introduce you to your North America Gathering Team (NAGT) for the 2019 Gathering in Austin, Texas!
We’ll be hanging around in Minneapolis, so please feel free to introduce yourselves.
Austin Talk
Global Scrum Gathering℠ is coming to Austin, Texas, May 20-22, 2019! As the Austinites on the 2019 North American Gathering Team, we’re bound and determined to make this the best Gathering yet, since it’s taking place in one of the world’s greatest cities.
Whether this will be your first time in Austin, or if you have yet to take the local scenic route, we’ve got you covered. Over the next few months we’ll help you plan to explore what Austin is known for (and let you in on some of our best kept secrets too).
MUSIC. Austin is the Live Music Capital of the World. With a band playing every night of the week in one of our 250 live music venues around town, it’s easy to enjoy everything from punk to blues, and country to rock.
NATURE. Austin has miles of hike and bike trails, dozens of parks, and a gorgeous greenbelt where you can wander down and splash around in the water. Speaking of water, we have a number of natural pools; some river, some spring fed. In short, Austin has an amazing abundance of nature and outdoor activities. (Hint: Plan to arrive early for the Gathering and/or stay a few extra days.)
DRINK. We have a feeling that, for quite a few of you, breweries and wineries are of interest. There are more than three dozen breweries in and around Austin, and a few dozen wineries within driving distance in the neighboring hill country just a few miles west.
FOOD. Do you like to eat your way through a new city? You’re going to love what Austin has to offer – even beyond world-famous BBQ. Whether it’s Japanese farmhouse crafted by a Top Chef, burgers with a side of sunset, French cuisine in a comfy setting, or fire-roasted Neapolitan pizza, Austin will attend to your indulgence.
Over the next few months we’ll deep dive into these and other awesome Austin delights. We’ll also update you on pertinent information about Global SCRUM GATHERING® Austin, including Call for Papers, themes, speakers, etc.
