The Advanced Certified ScrumMaster® (A-CSM®) certification provides you with the training, tools, and resources you need to increase your skillset and differentiate yourself as a highly qualified scrum master so that you can pursue the opportunities you’re passionate about.

The A-CSM® course provides training for real-world situations scrum masters are involved in every day. As an experienced practitioner, you know that facilitation and coaching your team using the scrum framework are important aspects of the job. You’re also ready to be a #changemaker in your organization, shifting mindsets and culture to support agility at all levels of the company: C-suite, management, and teams. In the Advanced Certified ScrumMaster course, you’ll learn how to be a true leader and serve the product owner, team, and organization. At the end of the course, you’ll earn the certification to prove your level of experience.

Advanced Certified ScrumMaster® (A-CSM®) is an in-depth, two-day immersion into the world of the ScrumMaster accountability. The class explores Agile Facilitation and Agile Coaching and how the ScrumMaster uses these skills to support the team, the Product Owner and the Organization.

The class is full of real-world examples from the attendee's experiences and coaches attendees through practical tools and techniques that can be implemented immediately at your workplace. The class is a deep dive into your responsibility as a ScrumMaster and the hands-on activities and exercises demonstrate key concepts and let you experience the next level of Scrum.

You will explore:

• How to best facilitate and coach team members, customers, executives and stakeholders

• Techniques to help your team on their journey to self-management and high performance

• Expanding the impact of Scrum in your organization

• Identify ways to scale Scrum and Agile beyond your team

To receive your Advanced Certified ScrumMaster® (A-CSM®) you'll need to:

  • Have Scrum Alliance Certified ScrumMaster® Certification (CSM®)
  • Complete this 2 day Advanced Certified ScrumMaster® (A-CSM®) workshop
  • Have at least 12 months of verifiable Scrum Master experience within the last 5 years, demonstrated by updating your experience on your Scrum Alliance profile

REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM) certification with the Scrum Alliance. 
  • Attend a certified A-CSM educational offering to gain techniques and skills that go beyond the basics and mechanics of Scrum, expanding into interaction, facilitation, coaching, and team dynamics.
  • Successfully complete all educator-designed components of an approved educational offering. This may include pre- or post-course work as deemed necessary by your approved educator to complete the learning objectives.
  • Accept the A-CSM® License Agreement and complete your Scrum Alliance membership profile.
  • Validate at least 12 months of work experience specific to the accountability of Scrum Master (within the past five years).

Maintain your A-CSM by earning Scrum Education Units® (SEUs) and renewing your certification every two years.

NOTE: You may take the A-CSM course at any time after completing your CSM certification, and must have at least 12 months of Scrum Master experience logged into your Scrum Alliance profile before you are eligible to receive your A-CSM certification.
