I studied computation at University of Manchester and went on to get my Masters in Advanced IT at Imperial College, Logic Programming Department. The title Advanced IT seemed like a hostage to fortune but 20 years I'm amazed how few of the ideas of that era have been taken up by our conservative industry. Logic Programming, Non-von Neumann architectures where are you? Oh well ... after grad school I worked as a Prolog/C developer in Oxford and London. In 1994 I moved to Frankfurt, Germany and started developing C++ realtime financial apps. In 1996 I switched to Java and, since 2001 have been working as a freelancer developing my Oracle and Ruby chops on the side. Along the way, I've written a few articles and given a few presentations.
