Biography

Angela V. Butler-McDonald, PMP, CSM:

I have worked as a Director of Project Management/Engineering Project Manager/Scrum Master, primarily in bio/life sciences, medical device and consumer-orient development environments for over 15 years.  I have significant achievements in driving complex projects and have comprehensive knowledge of both hardware technologies and software applications. I have acquired the ability to build effective controls while managing project constraints on consumer oriented software projects. I have a proven track record of developing dynamic cross-functional teams and demonstrating creativity in leadership. I am highly energetic, results oriented, a PMI certified project/program manager with a personable management style.

I am currently an Engineering Project Manager/Scrum Master, R&D PD Group at Fresenius Medical Care, Inc., Concord, CA.  I have over 30 years of experience in the Bio Sciences, Medical Device, Aerospace, and Consumer-oriented products industry, having worked as a Engineering Project Manager/Scrum Master, Sr. Program Manager, Program Manager, Sr. Project Manager, Software Project Manager/Scrum Master, Engineering Project Manager, Software Quality Lead, Systems Engineer and Electronics Technician.  Over the past fifteen years, I have managed both hardware and software projects for several leading Fortune 500 companies, including Apple Computer, AOL/Time Warner, Microsoft, Varian Medical Systems, Lockheed-Martin, Abbott Laboratories, Bio-Rad Laboratories and Fresenius Medical Care of North America, Inc.

I received my Masters of Science Degree in Telecommunications Management from Golden Gate University and I am certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI) as a Project Management Professional (PMP). I am also a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) via Scrum Alliance for the past few years.

I have a proven track record of developing dynamic cross-functional teams and demonstrating creativity in leadership.  Throughout my career, my ultimate goal was to be able to apply as much of my knowledge to any given situation with the result being that either the company or the customer was extremely satisfied with my deliverable.  This thought process has been applied to every project that I have worked on and successfully released.  I believe the reason for my success is having sound project knowledge, processes and tools to enable success.  Therefore, my hope is that this certification allows me to become more well-rounded and enhance my strategic approach to projects as well as aiding in effectively managing the agreed-upon project deliverables.

I hope to achieve additional knowledge such as advanced project management techniques, which will enhance my current extensive years of program/project experience.
