Denver, CO — SCRUM ALLIANCE®, the largest, most established and influential professional membership organization and certifying body in the Agile community, recently announced Michael Meissner as the newest member of its Board of Directors.

Michael is CTO of the Medical Device Development group (MED) at Sanofi, driving the digital transformation in drug delivery and adherence management. Prior to joining Sanofi, he worked as CTO at a digital pathology start-up (a joint venture between UPMC and GE Healthcare), and prior to that he was vice president of Engineering and Vital Images, now a Toshiba company. In all of his roles, he has consistently introduced and scaled up Agile and Scrum to software- and hardware-based medical device development.

Scrum Alliance Interim CEO Lisa Hershman said, “We are happy to have Michael join our Board of Directors in our mission to transform the world of work. His professional knowledge and experience will be great additions to our group as we continue to expand our work to help organizations transform.”

“I look forward to working with Michael as we move to expand the direction of Scrum Alliance in the future as a global, growing, and dynamic Agile and Scrum organization. His input on how we can best succeed as we broaden our products and services beyond the IT and software arena will help us make solid decisions in the future,” said Board Chair Gene Bounds.

“I’m honored to be selected to the Scrum Alliance Board of Directors, because I believe there are endless opportunities to build better products and have them built by Agile teams that live and breathe the need of the customers. Especially in healthcare, empathy and end-customer understanding has been an extremely rewarding experience,” said Michael Meissner. “Scaling Agile teams and cementing them lastingly in organizations remains a challenge, and I very much hope to aid and shape the evolution and future of Scrum Alliance as well as help penetrate regulated industries such as healthcare further.”
