Scrum Squad Charter

Introduction

Scrum Alliance® volunteer teams offer members worldwide the opportunity to come together to share your passion and knowledge about agile and Scrum practices. As a member of the Global Scrum GatheringSM Scrum Squad, you’ll work in collaboration with the Volunteer ScrumMaster and Scrum Alliance staff to support onsite needs for Global Scrum GatheringSM New York (SGNYC20).
 

Overview

We are looking for excited, motivated, and passionate volunteers to be members of the Global Scrum Gathering New York Scrum Squad. Our team will assist with a multitude of onsite tasks to support the programming and create a great Gathering for our agile community. We expect that SGNYC20 will engage practitioners through high quality learning experiences, exclusive opportunities, and innovative event elements.
 

Team Membership

The Gathering Scrum Squad consists of up to 25 individuals who are part of the Scrum Alliance community through membership. Selection of team members is based (in part) on a first-come, first-served basis, geography consideration, and a balance of diverse representation and experience.
 

Responsibilities 

Scrum Squad team members work in collaboration with the Volunteer ScrumMaster to manage and execute tasks for the New York Gathering. Responsibilities may include registration support, room monitoring, stuffing attendee bags, wayfinding, supplies and signage support, breakdown and more. Volunteers may need to perfrom physical tasks and carry up to 25lbs. 

 
Scrum Squad members contribute virtually to planning via email and SMS applications, and are required to attend one (1) visual lift-off session. Scrum Squad team members will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement and are expected to abide by the agreement, the Scrum Alliance code of conduct, and the working agreement designed by the Scrum Squad.
 

Time Commitment

Scrum Squad members can expect to make a commitment from Sunday, May 10 through Wednesday, May 13, with a minimum of 16 hours of service.
 

Compensation

All Scrum Squad members will receive a full Global Scrum GatheringSM New York registration, and are eligible to submit Scrum Education Units (SEUs) toward certification renewal.
