Global Scrum Gathering® London 2018

Meet the new Gathering Team for the 2018 London Global Scrum Gathering®.

The European Gathering team, replacing the role held previously by Gathering co-chairs, will work to ensure that content is innovative, actionable, and inclusive of valuable sessions for Scrum practitioners from beginners to experts.

Meet the team:



Based in the Netherlands, Nicole Belilos is an experienced Agile coach and Certified Scrum Trainer® (CST®). She helps organizations, teams, and individuals on their journey to agility. Corporations such as Philips, TomTom, Essent, DELA, and APG have benefited from Nicole’s talents as an experienced change agent with strong communication and interpersonal skills. She is appreciated for her hands-on and human approach. 

With a background in mathematics and computer science, Nicole started her career as a programmer in the Waterfall world. In 2004, she was introduced to Scrum and the Agile community. She has been an enthusiastic supporter of Agile ever since. She has been involved in the Agile community for many years as a speaker and event organizer, and strongly believes in continuous learning and knowledge sharing.

Nicole is fluent in Dutch, English, and French. In her spare time, she likes traveling, working out, going to the theater, and spending time with family and friends.

Based in the United Kingdom, Paul Goddard has been assisting Agile teams since 2003 as a qualified Certified Scrum Trainer® (CST®) and Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC).

Paul has aided clients’ Agile journeys in a variety of industries, ranging from small independent holiday travel businesses to multi-national technology and consultancy providers. A regular speaker at Agile conferences worldwide, Paul is recognized as a long-standing member and contributor in the U.K. and throughout Europe.

His first book, Improv-ing Agile Teams: Using Creativity To Unlock Creativity brings together two of his passions – coaching Agile teams and improvisational theatre. The principles and practices are so closely linked, he uses them every day in his work and personal life.

Alex Gray is a professional, energetic, and enthusiastic Agile trainer with over 20 years of experience in a multitude of projects and roles. With a background in IT and software development, Alex has experienced the full delivery lifecycle. He was a traditional project manager who was introduced to Agile in 2005 . . . and hasn’t looked back since.

Alex is a co-author of The Chartered Institute for IT (BCS) book, Agile Foundations: Principles, Practices and Frameworks, and is the creator of the initial syllabus, examination, and course materials for the BCS “Foundation in Agile Practices” certification.

In his current role as Head of Training for Radtac Ltd. (, Alex is responsible for managing and delivering training to many of the UK's leading companies within banking, insurance, telecoms, gaming and other sectors. Alex’s work with a major multinational bank led Radtac to win the 2016 Agile Award for Agile Consultancy of the Year (Enterprise).

Alex is an avid motorsports and water sports fan, and has been a volunteer U.K. Sea Scout Leader for over 20 years.

Emma Hopkinson-Spark is an experienced and versatile coach with almost 20 years of experience in software development and delivery. As Delivery Director for 101 Ways (, she has supported client organizations across a broad range of industries, from startups to large scale corporate environments, both in the public and private sectors.

Emma assisted Scrum Alliance® in the development of the CSP® certification program in 2011, won a U.K. Agile Award, and has since served on the judging panel for the awards.

She also performs in bands across the U.K. and Europe, coaches archery. and has a penchant for hair dye and tattoos.

Tony Richards coaches teams in Agile and Lean across the U.K. and Ireland. His career started in software development, and he’s since been exposed to marketing, finance, and corporate strategy. This experience allows him to work with leaders, coaching them to create environments where Agile teams thrive.

Tony first came across Lean principles in the early 90s while working with Toyota. He discovered Scrum in 2010 as part of a cross-functional, autonomous, self-organized team trying to discover what the customer really needed. He’s been hooked ever since.

Tony holds a CSM®, CSP-SM, ICP-ACC and is currently working toward becoming a recognized professional coach accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). He co-hosts a user group in his local city (, and when he’s not coaching Agile teams, he can be found on the court coaching basketball to kids.

Anu Smalley is the President and Founder of Capala Consulting Group, LLC where she specializes in Executive coaching and Agile Transformations. She is also an Enterprise Agile Coach and Certified Scrum Trainer®-providing education and coaching, consulting services to clients across the United States. An IT professional with over 25 years of industry experience, Anu holds a Master’s degree in Psychology from Osmania University in India and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University, Ohio.

Anu has extensive experience with large scale agile transformations, integral to the success of the likes of Capital One through her training and coaching expertise. She has specialized in leadership coaching and large group facilitation. Anu has established internal agile coaching Centers of Excellence for several clients to allow self-sustained coaching of their agile transformations. She has developed a coaching program specifically designed for evolving organizational leaders. Anu speaks frequently at conferences both nationally and internationally on Product Ownership and Group Facilitation Techniques.

Anu is passionate about coaching and training others, dedicated to helping to achieve professional and personal success. She is also committed to improving the agile community through severalactivities. She is an active member of the larger Scrum and Agile community and enjoys giving back via volunteering at various conferences. She is also a Program Advisor to the Scrum Alliance Events group as they plan, organize and coordinate various conferences, retreats and meetups around the world.
