    Date: 22-23 October, 2011
Location: Redwood City, CA, United States of America

    Regular Price: $1400

As a Scrum Product Owner, you are on a first-name basis with your users, have mapped their requirements thoroughly, and know that map like the back of your hand. You know the risk and business value in each user story, and are able to effortlessly assemble a backlog the team can implement. You are always available to the team, and constantly meeting with your users, customers, sponsors, and other stakeholders. No problem!

This experiential workshop will equip you with tools to tackle the formidable but rewarding role of Product Owner. You’ll gain real practice in class through hands-on exercises, project simulations and live demonstrations. Our goal is that you leave class with a sense that you’ve not only grasped the concepts, but that you’ve now “done” it.

This workshop leads to Scrum Product Owner certification through the Scrum Alliance, and is worth 14 PDUs through the Project Management Institute (PMI) for Project Managers working on maintaining their PMP credential.

Don't sit through 14 hours of PowerPoint... Not all Certified Scrum Product Owner courses are created equal. With Agile Learning Labs, you will participate in project simulations and game-based learning exercises, so you can learn by doing!

Top notch instruction. Chris Sims is famous for his unique style of teaching through innovative Agile games and simulations. Check out our full lineup of interactive Agile workshops.

What to expect: Our instructional style is highly interactive, so you will be moving about, participating in games and simulations. Participation in any physical exercise is of course optional--in fact the role of "observer" is quite valuable, so feel free to participate at your ability and comfort levels.

When do we start and end each day? The classroom opens at 8:30 AM each day and class will begin promptly at 9:00 AM. We will end at 5:00 PM each day.

Will there be food? We'll be providing continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks both days. Vegetarian options will be available both days. You are also welcome to bring in food.

Will I be able to check email? Yes, there will be wifi.

What should I bring? Yourself. You won't need a laptop, but you are free to bring one.

Is there something I should read before the workshop? When you take any Agile Learning Labs scrum certification class, you will receive a bound copy of our book,The Elements of Scrum on the first day of class. This book is a field guide to the real-world application of scrum. We recommend you prepare for the workshop by reading A Week in the Life of a Scrum Team.

You might also enjoy perusing the Wikipedia entry: or this short description on the Scrum Alliance website:
