Certified ScrumMaster is a 2-day course that covers the basics of Agile and Scrum. The course is taught through interactive activities, lecture (some), real-world experiences and discussions and sharing. Don’t expect to sit in your seat for two days.
At the end of the course, you will be capable of being an Agile team member and will have a good understanding of how Scrum works. For those pursuing the roles of ScrumMaster/Agile Coach, Product Owner or Agile Manager, this course will provide the needed foundation and will jump start your journey in these new roles.
Following successful completion of the course, students will be qualified to take the Scrum Alliance self-assessment. This multiple-choice, online assessment is required to become a Certified ScrumMaster. It is based on these resources and what you learn in the class. For more information on CSM certification, see answers to common questions and all the details provided by the Scrum Alliance.
Once you have earned the CSM designation you will be listed as a Certified ScrumMaster on the Scrum Alliance website and will receive a 12-month membership in the Scrum Alliance where additional ScrumMaster–only material and information are available.
PMPs: This course counts for 14 PDU credits with the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Past students say…
I’m ecstatic over how much I got out of Lyssa’s 2-day course. Lyssa’s approach inspired numerous Aha! moments, particularly in the coaching aspects of being a ScrumMaster. I was already practicing XP/Agile, but I was self-taught. I wish I hadn’t waited so long to take the official training as I’m certain it will up my game two-fold, at least. The fact that Lyssa was able to add her unique insights from the coaching angle added that much more. – Craig Jones
When describing Lyssa’s teaching style one word comes to mind…3D! By involving each and every class participant in challenging situational exercises followed by instantaneous feedback, she is able to simultaneously provide every student the exposure to her undivided attention in what closely represents the harmonious, transparent cycling of a multi-core CPU. I had the pleasure of attending her Scrum class for the CSM certification. The class was 2 days long and packed full of exercises coupled with real life situation role playing and examples of theory applicability. Her examples relayed her rich and diverse consulting background, which only affirmed her capability to teach such a diverse and highly experienced student body. After the class ended I could comfortably say that I was ready to apply my newly acquired skills and knowledge to my upcoming projects and speak to situations with ease and certainty! – Tariq Murtaza
Lyssa is an effective, energetic trainer… I left the class feeling excited and empowered. I look forward to applying my learning to current and future projects. Lyssa provided resources and references so that I can continue my education on the subject. I hope to be able to take additional agile training – hopefully delivered by Lyssa. – David LaRocque
Lyssa’s presentation style was dynamic, interactive, and creative. Lyssa’s ability to use her varied and real-life experiences truly brought the material she presented to life. The exercises she utilized expanded on and reinforced the concepts Lyssa covered. After participating in Lyssa’s class, I feel that I have an excellent foundation upon which to build and I am excited to incorporate Agile tenets into my projects and to initiate our first Scrum effort. – Robyn Young, PMP
Lyssa delivered an awesome Scrum and Agile course for my company. She held the students’ attention with fantastic energizers and motivators. The class was left excited and hungry for more! – Ray Gombos
Lyssa is a talented project/program manager and is committed to developing others who work with, for, or are in training she conducts. She gets straight to the heart of the matter and coaches versus trains. The scrum class I just attended through her company was invaluable in presenting concepts different from what you traditionally see in applications development environments. Lyssa clearly explains the content, includes all participants, and repeatedly checks in for feedback and ensures that her audience participates in the learning. I would love to be able to work with her again – especially using scrum and agile! – Joelle Rubenstein, PMP
All CSM courses are taught by Trainers approved by the Scrum Alliance.
