    What is Scrum?

Scrum is one of the largest and fastest-growing agile frameworks. It is a simple, yet powerful way to boost team productivity, elevate quality, and accelerate project delivery.

This course covers pragmatic practices for long and short-range planning, project execution, and progress reporting. It provides an examination of the Scrum project lifecycle as well as an in-depth exploration of the Scrum roles, ceremonies, and artifacts. Exercises, case studies, and examples are interwoven into each class to illustrate agile principles and practices.

All CSM courses are taught by Trainers approved by the Scrum Alliance. Taking a CSM course, passing the CSM test, and accepting the license agreement designates you as a Certified ScrumMaster, which indicates that you have been introduced to and understand the basic concepts you need to perform as a ScrumMaster or team member on a Scrum team. This course also satisfies two elements of the CSD track: Scrum Introduction and Elective.

The Scrum Alliance will begin to administer a test for people pursing the Certified ScrumMaster designation. This test is being implemented on October 1st; any participant completing their CSM class prior this date will not need to take a test.

What are the benefits of taking a class to learn about Agile & Scrum as opposed to simply

Reading a book or other sources of written information about Agile & Scrum are valuable resources and we strongly encourage potential students to leverage these resources. Our training classes are designed to reinforce concepts with in depth simulations and robust discussion. All of our course blend lecture, practice, and reflection. This allows participants to gain a much more profound understanding of the subject matter.

What do I need to bring to a class?

Our classes are designed to be a stand-alone experience and do not require participants to bring anything to a class other than an open mind and willingness to learn and perhaps something to take notes.

What time do classes start and how long do they go each day?

Unless otherwise stated, all of our classes begin at 8:30 and run to 5:00 PM, local time. Classes generally include a break for lunch around noon, as well as a brief break in the morning and afternoon.

What happens if a class is cancelled?

In the case that a class is canceled by BigVisible, participants are entitled to transfer to another class or receive a full refund at their discretion.

What is the cancellation policy for a seat I've already purchased?

Public training participants who cancel their registrations up to 30 days prior to the registered class will receive a full refund of the registration fees paid. In the event of a cancellation within 30 days of the scheduled class, registrants will receive a credit towards a future class. If a cancellation is made within 14 days of the scheduled class, the participant will be charged a 30% cancellation fee and the remaining registration fee will be credited towards a future class. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice prior to a class start, or registered participants who do not attend the training without providing prior notice, will be not be eligible for a refund or credit and will be charged the full amount of the registration. All cancellation requests must be made via email to . BigVisible reserves the right to amend this policy at any time as well as review cancellation requests on a case-by-case basis in the event of family or health emergencies, hardship cases etc.

What is the average size of a class?

Our goal is to keep classes large enough that there is meaningful interaction among participants, but small enough so that everyone gets the attention of the instructor. Generally speaking, we aim to keep most classes sized between 8 and 16 participants. We do cap classes at 25 participants.
