    This partial weekend class is designed so that you get the most out of your work week to keep your boss happy without having to sacrifice your entire weekend.

    The Certified ScrumMaster Workshop is a two-day interactive introduction to Scrum principles, practices, values and mechanics. Through a combination of group discussion, hands-on sprint simulation, and lecture students will learn how to become active members of a Scrum team. This class is for everyone from Scrum team members, ScrumMasters, Product Owners, stakeholders and anyone else interested in furthering their knowledge in this Agile Software Development practice.  After completion in this course, attendees are able to participate in an exam on the Scrum Alliance website. Once a favorable score is acheived participants will receive official designation as "Certified ScrumMasters".

    All CSM courses are taught by Trainers approved by the Scrum Alliance. Taking a CSM course, passing the CSM test, and accepting the license agreement designates you as a Certified ScrumMaster, which indicates that you have been introduced to and understand the basic concepts you need to perform as a ScrumMaster or team member on a Scrum team. This course also satisfies two elements of the CSD track: Scrum Introduction and Elective.

    Refunds are available up to10 business days before the scheduled course date. Cancellations made after 10 business days of the event will be credited 

    toward future events, however, no refunds will be issued. Rescheduling course attendance will be subject to a $100 transfer fee. Substitutions will be 

    accepted at any time prior to the start of the course. In addition to the standard policy, the course must be attended within 6 months of the original 

    enrollment date, and no refunds or credits will be issued for individuals who fail to attend a course within the 6 month period. Participants must attend 

    both days of the course and there will be no refunds or credits available for individuals who fail to attend both days of the course.

      A)     Agile Manifesto: Define and describe the four values of Agile as per the Agile Manifesto
      B)      Scrum Foundations: Define and describe Inspect, Adapt, and Transparency as the 3 Legs of an empirical process and describe how Scrum is based on empirical process.
      C)      Sprints: Describe how Scrum uses iterative and incremental development. What is a timebox?
      D)     “Done”: What is the definition of “done” and what is the importance of knowing this?
      E)      The Five Scrum Values: Identify the five Scrum values.
      F)      Applicability of Scrum: Identify the environments where adopting Scrum leads to the best results.


    • Scrum Roles
      A)     Overview of Scrum Roles: Identify the three Scrum roles and why these roles make up a Scrum team.
      B)      ScrumMaster: Define and describe what the roles and responsibilities are for the ScrumMaster. Define what kind of “authority” the ScrumMaster holds.
      C)      Product Owner: Define and describe what the role and responsibilities are for the Product Owner. Define what kind of “authority” the Product Owner holds.
      D)     The Team: Define what the responsibilities of The Team are. What is the “authority” of The Team? What defines Team Work? What are the characteristics of The Team?
      E)      Impact on Traditional Roles: What is the impact of Scrum on the traditional business roles?

      A)     Sprint Planning Meeting/Daily Scrum/Sprint Review/Sprint Retrospective/Release Planning: Define the Who, What, Where, Why, and When


    • Scrum Artifacts
      A)     Product Backlog: Define what the Product Backlog is, what the content of the Product Backlog is, management and refinement, responsibility and participation, Item readiness, and item estimation.
      B)      Product Increment and Definition of Done: Define the Product Increment, how to develop the
      product increment, definition of done (DoD), and understanding the DoD.
      C)      Sprint Backlog: Define the Sprint Backlog, the purpose of the Sprint Backlog, how to manage the backlog, and the responsibility of The Team to create/maintain the backlog. Identify and update the scope and frequency of the work in the backlog.
      D)     Burndown Charts: Define the Sprint Burndown Chart, describe how the Sprint Burndown chart is used, describe who is responsible of the Sprint Burndown Chart, and how frequently it should be updated.
      E)      Release Burndown Chart: Define the Release Burndown Chart, how it is used, who is responsible for the Release Burndown Chart, and how often it should be updated.
