Learn Scrum and become a Certified ScrumMaster by playing with Lego!

Learn about the Scrum framework, the ScrumMaster role and experience how a Scrum project is planned and executed on this CSM course aimed at people curious about Scrum or relatively new to it. Attendees will be guided through a simulation of a Scrum project (using Lego) to explore what it feels like, what challenges you can expect and some techniques to make your application of Scrum easier.

    • The values and principles of agile development
    • The Scrum framework; its artefacts, rules and ceremonies
    • The roles and responsibilities in a Scrum team
    • How to plan for a multi-team, multi-sprint project
    • Tracking progress over the course of a project
    • Common challenges when introducing Scrum to an organisation
There will also be time for specific questions from attendees to be covered and, after successfully completing the two day course, attendees will be put forward for the Scrum Alliance CSM exam.

If you are already experienced with Scrum, are looking for a more in-depth certification course that focusses more on the nuances of Scrum or the ScrumMaster role, try my CSM (practitioner) course

All CSM courses are taught by Trainers approved by the Scrum Alliance. Taking a CSM course, passing the CSM test, and accepting the license agreement designates you as a Certified ScrumMaster, which indicates that you have been introduced to and understand the basic concepts you need to perform as a ScrumMaster or team member on a Scrum team. This course also satisfies two elements of the CSD track: Scrum Introduction and Elective.

The final step in becoming a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) is to take a multiple–choice assessment exam administered by the Scrum Alliance. You will become a Certified ScrumMaster once you pass the CSM test. The test contains 35 multiple–choice questions and you must correctly answer 24 questions to pass. The test takes about an hour to complete. You can stop and restart as many times as needed. You can also skip, go back, and bookmark questions for later review. Review your bookmarked questions before submitting your test for scoring. When you click “submit” at the end, a warning message will alert you of any unanswered questions. Your test results will immediately appear on your computer.

You have two opportunities within 90 days, after you receive your welcome email, to pass the test at no cost. After two attempts or 90 days, you will be charged $25 for each additional attempt.

The questions in the CSM test are based on the learning objectives established for this course at http:⁄⁄⁄resources⁄2747. You can also access the content of the Agile Atlas at http:⁄⁄⁄. The Agile Atlas is a resource for Scrum and other relevant information you need as a Scrum practitioner.

  • Agenda
The core agenda of a Certified ScrumMaster course is set by the Scrum Alliance and will cover all of the aspects of the Scrum framework and lifecycle. These elements will be augmented by the individual Trainer's experiences.

Geoff runs a very interactive and fun class in which his role is as much of a guide as it is a trainer. By allowing the attendees to experience Scrum in a fun yet structured way, participants will pull out the most important learning points to them and my feedback shows that the learning from this class sticks with the participants longer.

    • What Scrum is and where it comes from
    • When Scrum is applicable and when it is not
    • How to plan a Scrum project
    • How to execute a Scrum project
    • How to track progress in a Scrum project
    • How to review a Scrum project
    • What the roles and responsibilities are in a Scrum team
  • Who Should Attend

This course is aimed at people curious about Scrum or relatively new to it and wish to obtain certification while gaining exposure the values, principles and practices of a Scrum project.
