General Dynamics Information Technology

  • Lead the activities of the 80+ GDIT professionals providing full lifecycle support to all business systems of the Department of Interiors’ Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement and the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management.
  • Executed the on-time, under-budget delivery of the first Agile developed system for the DOI.  The $5M IT investment automated a paper process into a fully secure, web based application for qualifying and managing the bonding of companies seeking offshore drilling rights.
  • Lead the successful implementation of the fully customized desktop ESRI Geographic Information System (GIS) on time and on budget.  This $2M project modernized, streamlined and replaced the previous 16 bit GIS system.
  • Executed a full redesign of the Software Maintenance lifecycle from a traditional break-fix waterfall to a highbred Scrum/Kanban (Scrumban) maintenance methodology employing four agile teams and a scrum of scrums.  This $8.7M a year maintenance effort supports 15 business applications and 1350 employees through build and test, staging, production, and continuity of operations (COOP) environments and maintains a complete datacenter which houses the Oracle 11g databases, NetApp file servers, and Oracle 11G Fusion application servers.
  • Maintain all financial reports for my team, execute performance appraisals, established reward programs, develop training plans, facilitate and maintain disaster preparedness, forecast salaries and annual budget roll ups.
  • Develop and maintain traditional project management plans with an agile flavor, release plans, and estimates, and both sprint and release burn down charts.  Monitor team tasks through daily scrums, conduct retrospectives and backlog grooming sessions.
  • Motivate and lead professional staff to accomplish work that provides quality products and services to the customer. Develop quality assurance processes that collect, compare and validate the content of corporate and project databases.
