I am a freelance Digital consultant, specialising in Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban. I was a co-founder of the London digital agency The Cogworks and was the development director for almost 7 years. I transitioned the agency to using Agile techniques and helped grow turnover and profits every year.
I am a certified Scrum product owner, Scrum master and an accredited Kanban practitioner. Using Agile/Lean techniques I have successfully lead projects and programmes of work for large companies. I am focused on business value at all times and am a firm believer in an iterative approach in order to reduce risk, ensure delivery of customer value and to keep quality high.
Using my experience and knowledge I can help companies and agencies with Agile transitions. I can also help with digital strategy and improving a company's overall efficiency through better use of technology and resources. I can also provide PO/PM/SM services for Agile projects.
I'm also the founder of Agile Llama, a consultancy which aims to help agencies (digital and otherwise) get to grips with Agile techniques. I also work with agencies to improve customer collaboration and increase the flow of value to customers.
The Cogworks, Development Director
June 2007 - February 2014, London, GB
Transitioned the agency from traditional waterfall techniques to a fully agile Scrum based agency. Worked with teams as coach, mentor, Scrum master and product owner. Helping team members adopt agile development practices as well as helping shift the agency culture to a more agile based approach.
I also worked with clients to evangelise and educate on the benefits of the agile approach (scrum in particular). Often this involved explaining not only how the process worked but helping dispel myths and fears of working with an agile agency.
I was also Product Owner on larger multi agency projects for clients such as: Reckitt Benckiser, Vanish and Endsleigh Insurance. As part of which I facilitated workshops at client offices, working with stakeholders to create meaningful user stories and useful product backlogs. Also working throughout projects to ensure the rapid delivery of business value.
Some of the other clients I worked with were: Happier Homes, Durex, Veet, Clearasil, Jaguar Landrover, Wunderman, Blackbridge Communications, Iris Worldwide, Olswang, Best Invest, Collinson Latitude, World Skills London 2011, Jack Wills, Oasis and Agria.
