As a agile enthusiast operating with scrum master and project manager roles, I have worked with various organisations and teams to successfully deliver software since 2006. My passion lies in empowering people and teams to become hyper-effective within the challenging environments they exist it. My journey with Scrum started shortly after being introduced to it in a Master's program in the University of Limerick in Ireland. Shortly after, I got my first taste of using Scrum to bring discipline to the chaos that resulted from a small company that grew from 4 people to 11 within a space of 4 months. Scrum worked, and it worked really well for us, and I've been implementing Scrum ever since. Each Scrum implementation has been different, with varying degrees of success, in different sizes of organisations. It is hard to describe the buzz I get when I start seeing teams and individuals really understand and live by the Agile values. After a decade of scrummaging with teams, I have been transitioning into a consulting role providing coaching and mentoring, helping people & teams to find their own answers on their agile journey.

- Researched and developed a a software quality framework which can be used for software development efforts within the medical & healthcare industry. This research was part of a Work Package for a Pan-European Research Project. The software development efforts which arise from the utilisation of this framework should be compliant with international healthcare regulation and legislation.

GPXS R&D Ltd, Scrum Master
June 2007 - September 2009, Limerick, Ireland
Having initially managed the Software Development Team deliverables as a ScrumMaster, my role was expanded to Project Manager, managing all aspects of the SDLC and end-to-end delivery of projects from business analysis & requirements generation through to release management for two product lines, reporting directly to the CEO. - Full responsibility for software development projects, ensuring on-time release of all projects since October 2007 meeting specified requirements. - Interacted with large enterprise customers to obtain business requirements, and handling end-to-end project delivery. - Responsible for authoring functional requirements, having implemented processes & templates for requirements generation and management. - Liaised with management, sales team and consultants to help prioritise functional development strategically. - Created, monitored and managed project schedules, utilising an in-house template to manage schedules with team members and MS Project to communicate externally. - Involved in the design and architectural reviews of the features and products. - Implemented procedures to improve development activities such as code reviews, code documentation & unit testing. - Carried out debugging and bug fixing with the Development team. - Involved in testing the two product families and driving product documentation. - Implemented the agile methodology of Scrum. - Structured the working and management of the team around the Scrum framework. - Fine tuned aspects of the Scrum framework and SDLC to improve performance. - Implemented changes in the organisation through new business processes in development, QA and product shipping. - Participated in an IDA technical assessment for grant applications, receiving very positive feedback on processes and methodologies being used. - Liaised with 3rd party entity in an IT implementation project for the Limerick office as well as the QA testing environments.
