Stephan Rupp received the diploma degree in Computational Engineering from the Hamburg University of Technology, Germany, in 2003. His major subjects are Software Engineering, Computer Vision and Image Processing. In August 2003 he received a scholarship from the German Research Foundation (DFG) and worked as a postgraduate in the Research Training Group 244 "3-D Image Analysis and Synthesis". From January 2006 to December 2008 he worked as a scientist at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (IIS) in Erlangen, Germany, developing image processing algorithms for medical application and industrial inspection systems. Since January 2009 he is responsible for the implementation and introduction of software quality and software development processes within the medical imaging group in order to support the CE certification process for medical products.
