An industry veteran for over 20 years, Steve brings to the Scrum Alliance board a wealth of expertise drawing on his experience, which spans from start-up companies, not-for-profits, academic sectors and Fortune 500 companies. Steve is co-founder and CIO of Caring, Inc., a company dedicated to assist caregivers with senior housing and senior health needs. He has served an Executive Consultant for various start-up companies focusing on agile development including Scrum, software architecture, and technical/business planning.
During Steve’s tenure at Baby Center (1998-2006), a Johnson and Johnson subsidiary, he served as Vice President of Engineering and led his team, encompassing software development, network operations, and production teams, in support of what has become the preeminent online resource for new and expectant parents. Under his technical leadership, the company also launched a retail e-commerce presence, subscription revenue service and an offline magazine.
Steve served as Technical Director for the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, and led a team representing ten countries for the United Nations Development Program. His team deployed and designed network to support thousands of Earth Summit conference participants, representing over 150 countries and attended by 89 heads of state. Additionally, Steve has worked on projects funded by the United Nations, the MacArthur Foundation, the Internet Society and the Carnegie Corporation to expand global access to the internet.
