Agile Coach, DISYS, Inc.

Certified ScrumMaster

I've been working on software since graduating from college (CS degree) in 1983. Started my career on real time software for energey management systems on Modcomp minicomputers. Later moved to Intel architecture systems in the same problem domain.

In 1990, went to work for Compaq and worked on server management software in one form or another for the next 22 years.

We started using Scrum in August of 2010 (6 months before Scrum training). Luckily we had an experienced and enthusiastic teammate that helped the team through the early part of this transition.

My role in our Scrum process was as Product Owner.

The CSM course we took in March of 2011 was extremely helpful and inspiring. Can't say enough good things about Peter Borsella and Winnow Management. Simply the best (and most transformative) two days of training I have ever experienced.

I've since worked as Scrum Master, manager, and agile coach at various companies, continually refining my agile mindset, leadership, and people skills.

After the project was downsized, served as Scrum Master/Agile Coach for 5 remaining teams that had been running Scrum for about a year, making numerous suggestions to improve their process and technical practices. For another client, served as Agile coach for a department that had excellent development practices, but needed help eliminating us-vs-them thinking across the various roles. Succeeded in breaking through and inspiring the teams to see each others strengths and contributions. Teams are working more collaboratively now, and breaking down the silos between developers, testers, and analysts.
