Paul Thompson creates the ideation and vision for great mobile Apps and web products. He creates and manages the roadmap and product backlog. Paul is an Agile Manager and Scrum Master who coaches teams to deliver world class customer experiences.
With a software development, mobile marketing and business analysis background, Paul operates equally well in all three Product Owner areas - Business Analysis, User Experience and Technology.
As a Certified Scrum Master Paul is passionate about coaching teams and business to deliver the best possible product with the best possible customer experience. Paul is an ambassador for agile transition and encouraging team members to grow personally to reach their highest possible potential.
Paul has an IT BSc honours degree from a top ten British university, 20 years of IT experience, 12 years of marketing experience, 10 of them in mobile.
Prior to running his own company, Paul worked at Mobile Embrace, Australia’s leading integrated and mobile communications company as a Business Analyst and Product Owner. Paul was responsible for thought leadership, expanding market opportunities and implementing innovative projects within Mobile, Search, and Social Networking. Paul conceived, designed and implemented a Mobile Social Networking siteintegrating game theory, social tribes, social game playing, user generated content and mobile content delivery.
As Product Owner and Designer at Mobile Embrace, Paul conceived, designed and managed a billing mobile entertainment platform, creating the Vision, User Stories and Task Use Cases. Paul Project managed the Java development (built by an off-shore development company in India). As an Agile Evangelist, Paul has managed over 30 Product Developments at Mobile Embrace, reducing the time to deployment for a mobile product from ten weeks to a sprint of 10 days.
As Operations Manager Paul presided over Online Accounts, Content, Creative and CRM and Production teams, with line management responsibility. Paul created the business processes, QA standards and operational procedures to support the accounts and bill the companies 500,000 customers producing $9.7m of revenue.
As a Product Manager, Paul managed 15 online accounts (see case studies). This included producing the vision, concept, creative brief and managing the build. All online accounts included a web site (with approximately 20,000 pages) and three WAP sites for content discovery, collection and purchase. Paul created and managed the creation of the in-house SEM PPC campaigns, the CPA, compliance and actual billed customer value. Paul increased online marketing spend from an initial $0 to A$500,000. MobileActive became one of Google Australia’s top 10 customers.
Paul has more than 12 years of management experience intaking start-up organisations though concept, design, venture capital raising and product production and sale. Paul has worked in a variety of industries including law, finance as well as travel.
