While working on large Agile engagements, I have seen challenges like
1. Availability of high end communication infrastructure due to distributed team environment
2. Coaching of teams - Mindset shift from conventional delivery models to working in Agile delivery model
3. Absence of engineering practices
4. Customer understanding of Agile practices
5. Architectrual guidance to scrum teams
To overcome these challenges, I had contributed in terms of building an overall program governance. The program governance kit detailed each scrum phase, key activities to be performed, what are entry and exit criterias, what deliverables are produced at the end of each scrum phase. I had also contributed in arriving at more detailed roles & responsibility of each role, so that team knows about Do's and Don'ts. I have also created checklists and templates for validation, verfication and smooth execution of the program. The program governance kit can be utilised by other agile projects starting in the organisation.
Besides mentoring of my team members time to time on Agile principle and practices, I take regular informal sessions of colleagues who have little knowledge on Agile/scrum/XP. In discussion I share my experiences with colleagues on the Agile project/ program execution and how we had applied best pratices of scrum in overcoming the challenges of program execution.
