Nihar Ashish is a Senior Manager, Program Management in Sapient’s Bangalore office.
Nihar has over 11 years of experience in Program Management, Agile methodology, requirements & fusions workshops, business analysis, application programming and quality assurance. Nihar is a Certified Scrum Master and Certified Scrum Professional from Scrum Alliance. Has an in-depth, practical and large scale experience of Scrum and Agile practices after working on large scale Agile programs over the last 9 years.
In his most recent role, from Mar 2015 till date, Nihar took upon the Onshore Programme Manager role managing delivery across multiple source markets (countries) in the Internationalization and re-platforming program for a major Nordics travel site using Agile methodology. The multi-million, multi-phase and multiyear program required SapientNitro to take the travel business online to Sweden, Finland, Denmark & Norway. Nihar was the leading the delivery & co-ordination from Onshore including the PMO team and continuous improvement initiatives.
Prior to this, from Jan 2014 till Feb 2015, Nihar took upon the Onshore Programme Manager role managing delivery across multiple phases in the Internationalization and re-platforming program for the Clothing line of the major UK eCommerce site using Agile methodology. The multi-million, multi-phase and multiyear program required SapientNitro to take the Clothing business online to Ireland, Poland, UK and 3 Central European countries. Nihar was the leading the delivery & co-ordination from Onshore.
Since Joining Sapient in April 2006 till Feb - 2007, Nihar has participated in the requirements analysis, design & development as well as testing of applications for a Canadian mortgage major catering to financial services industries. From March – 2007 till Dec. 2008, Nihar was managing delivery for multiple small to medium sized (8-30 members) projects for an eCommerce application. From Jan. 2009 till July 2009, Nihar managed the project for customization of a Canadian mortgage application to suit the requirements of the Australian market. From Aug. 2009 till Dec 2009, Nihar was leading a small cross-functional group to run a Fusion, design & Requirements gathering phase in Grand Rapids, US for a Food Services company. From Dec 2009 till Oct 2011, Nihar has been a part of a large team who led the re-platform of a major US eCommerce site using Agile methodology. He’s been a part of the PMO team initially & participated in governing the program, then moved to managing delivery in Integration team and lastly managed delivery & client engagement for the Performance Testing team. From Nov 2011 till Feb 2015, Nihar has been a part of a team which was involved in the re-platform and enhancements of a major UK eCommerce site using Agile methodology. He’s helped enhance the General Merchandising platform by being a part of the front-end Customer team & then for the Marketplace team. Besides this, he was leading the client engagement on the Clubcard Rewards and contributed to the 500% growth of the account in 2 years.
In his various role(s) he managed multiple scrum teams, was the Agile coach and evangelist, Program Managed the delivery of a platform, governed the program and led the client engagement from a Sapient perspective.
