Upon finishing graduate school, I giddily accepted a position as a “business consultant.” Little did I know that being a “business consultant” meant working on big, hairy IT projects for somebody else. Now, thirteen years later, I proudly refer to myself as a software project manager. As a consultant, I hoodwinked my last client into giving Agile a try, and had a great experience that yielded great results. I’m excited to be working for a larger organization that is making Agile the standard rather than a fad or experiment. After having lived in L.A. and San Francisco for a decade, I am happily settled in my beloved Curtis Park neighborhood in Sacramento with my wife, two sons, two cats, a 90 lb black lab, and as many bicycles as I can sneak past my wife into the garage (currently 6). I enjoy all the usual domesticities like cooking, reading, and watching Bravo reality shows. To satisfy my mid-life need for excitement, danger, and bromance, I compete in Cyclocross races, which is a form of bicycle racing that combines mud, obstacles, sprints, and beer.
