My name is Jonathan Luzader and I have been practicing Agile software development professionally for the last 4 years. I have worked mainly in the federal space but have also contributed to non-profit initiatives in the past. I currently hold a CSM, PMI-ACP and SAFe Program Consultant certifications and am seeking to finalize my application for a CSP, with the ultimate goal of becoming a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST). My comparatively brief professional experience is backed by 4 years of military service in the United States Army, including serving with the 1st Infantry division in combat operations in Iraq from 2004-2005.
After 3 consecutive overseas tours, I exited the service and attended The Pennsylvania State University and received a degree in Information Sciences and Technology with a focus on enterprise applications and integration. After gradatuation, I began work with SRA International, INC. as a Scrum Master for EPA ENERGY STAR, helping EPA build new software solutions that would meet the needs of their newly proposed certification process. This system involved the creation of many seprate webservices, front-end user interfaces, data exploration experiences, data warehousing and reporting features and comprised many separate sub-systems.
Together we worked to implement a sensible approach using to Scrum, Xtreme programing, and Lean, coupled with JIRA and Confluence for work tracking and documentation. Once we were able to stand up a few services, we began critiquing each point of development in our web-service creation process, focusing every iteration on improving both the amount of what we produce and the quality of what we are producing to go from 1-2 web-services a sprint to 10-12 web-services. By properly capturing metrics and other velocity determining factors such as story points, we were able to accurately forecast our delivery schedule months in advance and were able to meet our clients deadlines on time, with additional features added in.
I am currently working on a new contract as a Senior Program Consultant for NTTDATA.
