  1. Global Contractor Management System

Role: Project Manager

Project Detail:

Project Back ground – The detailed study was done for moving confidential information from HRA system available on Microsoft Cloud (Azure) to the Contactor Management System Application without any manual intervention. The scope was to make the target database secured using Oracle Database Vault and to be monitored using IBM Guardium. Various aspects were to be taken care of w.r.t. permissions, firewall rules and other security parameters. Multiple teams were involved viz., Microsoft (for Azure Cloud), TCS (owner of CMS), IBM (for IBM Guardium), AT&T (configuring firewalls and other network related tasks) and Oracle (for configuring Oracle DB Vault). Once the strategy was approved by the stakeholders and the client’s technical team, POC was done using minimum set of data on non-prod DB. The DB was monitored for a week and after completion. The production roll out was planned.

     

Some of the Features of this project are as follows:

  1. Detailed feasibility study was done for all the aspects.
  2. Oracle queues and web services were tested before implementing final solution.
  3. Oracle Database Vault was successfully tested and rolled out to production.
  4. Guardium was successfully implemented with 7 days data retention policy.
  5. The project was highly visible in terms of complexity and senior management’s involvement from the inception of the project.

 

  1. Global TSM Servers and Clients version upgrade

Team Size: 35 Internal Stakeholders, AT&T (Vendor), stakeholders from the client

Role: Project Manager

Project Detail:

Project Back ground – The TSM servers at Dow Next Enterprise needs Version upgrade including upgrade at client level too. The TSM Server Version 6.x needs to be upgraded to Version 7.x as it was be out of support in April 2017.

     

Some of the Features of this large project are as follows:

  1. Global nature of the project involved countries operating in all four major regions (AP, EMEA, NA, LA)
  2. This project is unique in that we had to divide this in 4 sub projects:
    1. TSM server upgrade
    2. TSM Clients upgrade
    3. Existing servers hardware (memory or disks) upgrade as per the requirement of new TSM version
    4. Procure new servers for the old servers which cannot be upgraded to new TSM version.
  3. 83 new TSM servers were procured and went through the build process
  4. Either disks or memory was upgraded for 167 servers.
  5. Over 5500 clients were upgraded.

The project was highly visible in terms of delivery, senior management’s involvement from the inception of the project.

Project Detail: As a part of business expansion DOW introduces various sites and plants across the globe. IBM being the leader in delivering IT services helps DOW in establishing the IT infrastructure for these sites. Various activities involved are:

  • Based on the initial requirements given in the ISR Document (Sort of Project Charter), conduct first meeting with the client and collect initial requirements.
  • Based on the initial requirements collected in the first meeting, requested resource assignment, requested claim codes for labor claiming.
  • Conduct planning meetings with the client and internal stakeholders of the project, Collect requirements, define scope and finalize the requirements.
