Biography

COLIN WILLIAMS - I am an experienced technical project manager in the Software Development industry. I have led various projects for customers large and small. Scrum principals have helped guide my teams through these often complicated projects, and helped determine which process were helpful and which weren't. The team is able to understand expectations better when you establish a solid cadence of meetings and procedures. Happy engineers lead to happy customers! I credit the success of my project directly to Scrum methodologies and practices, it's literally changed my career.

Work experience

Lead various projects using Scrum methodology

Double Down Interactive, Technical Project Manager
December 2012 - August 2014, Seattle, WA
As my former employer grew I began to miss the implementation and execution of the new process and began looking for a company that was in a similar spot when I started back in 2007. A mid sized Dev shop that wanted to implement SCRUM. After living through the transition process for the last 5 years I felt that I could be a valuable asset to such a company. I have been with DoubleDown for about 2 months now and I love the vision of what this company can be and how I can help shape it. I'm currently filling the role of Tech Project Manager for an internal tools team and will soon be adding another Dev team to PM. I am really enjoying presenting the SCRUM process to a willing audience.

Groundspeak, Project Manager/Scrum Master
August 2007 - November 2012, Seattle, WA, United States
Implemented Scrum methodology to existing Development Team. As the company grew and more teams were added I filled the role of Scrum Master for those teams as well (max 4 teams). I brought in the still existing policies and procedures around Scrum and software development. As the teams became more proficient I moved more to a role of Product Manager - taking the input from the company owners and breaking the ideas down to sprint sized stories. I also focused on re-establishing the multi-team standards for estimation of work and helped on-board new developers to our process.
