My name is Caroline McKeen I was working for a very dynamic software development company in Durban, South Africa for the online gaming industry for both international and european markets. They support existing and develop new products using Scrum processes. Working as a Project Manager and a Scrum Master we constantly had to switch focus and wear two hats. Scrum Master has the focus of the team and ensures we remove road blocks and adhere to the various ceremonies and deliver deployable development within the two week period. Project Manager has a different role and ensures the team delivers, manages risk and deliver on set milestones and business strategic goals adhering to quarterly KPIs.
Prior to working for Derivco I worked for an outsourced IT consulting specialist whose main stream business was medical aid using Waterfall methodology. Worked on various projects in Zimbabwe, Botswana, Swaziland & Namibia for private companies and government. The two government projects which I am proud to be part of was an HIV system in Botswana and a Motor vehicle accident (MVA) in Namibia in Africa. Both projects were supposed to be for a limited period of time, but in a nutshell they were so successful and inovative the governments decided to extend them and still continue to this day.
I have always been a self-starter and motivated person but Project Management and Scrum master are best suited to my skills and abilities.
