Developing software mainly with Java/J(2)EE and open source frameworks in projects since 1999 where I started as Developer on a Internship at Sun Microsystems in Munich writing online applications and Swing based stand-alone apps.
Two years later I was part of developing a virtual campus and student self-care portal for the Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich including SSO and identity management with Novell Directory Services in a team with eight persons.
After this I continued as freelancer in the area of identity management and SSO mostly related to NDS and other Novell based technologies like eGuide doing various projects at clients such as government institutions, television companies or logistic providers in Germany.
2005 I joined Wirecard a Payment Service Provider working as developer in an e-Wallet application. Later I joined a team that ahould build probably the first virtual credit card (http://mywirecard.com), mostly doing end-to-end development.
In this project an external consulting company tried to apply the first Scrum related techniques, but management was not convinced of using a full blown Scrum approach. Still most of that was spread as best practices to other project teams.
Finally in 2007 due to a initiative of the Director of Development the team of this project joined two other teams for our first pilot project with the full Scrum approach. At that time I was the technical project lead and became ScrumMaster for the pilot. As the project was very successful, management decided to roll out Scrum. I got certified as Scrum Master and the rest is history ... ;-)
I am passionate about software development and improving daily work processes to enable innovative and great solutions to boost our business.
