Managing a team of 13 over two sites with skill sets ranging from architecture, development, quality assurance and database administration for the society. My time was spent maturing the software delivery methodology of their systems development function. I utilised agile principles to ensure that more focus is given to return on investment and realising value at the earliest opportunity. I evangelised traits such as providing a sprint goal, ensuring the backlog is groomed, self-organisation of the team, coaching the team to provide a definition of done and understanding value.
Understanding that the development function didn't have enough skills to get work into a done state I grew the team in terms of development and more specifically QA capability.
I also presented a roadmap and realisation plan to consolidate the technologies and processes while maturing the release and continuous integration processes.

Since joining The AA I have been instrumental in transforming the B2B software development team to an Agile delivery team with lean and focussed processes. This has included the implementation of ATDD, BDD and TDD, implementation of continuous integration, test and deployment. My work transforming the development process for the B2B business has led to me coaching other team leads with-in the business. Due to the improved processes implemented I’ve managed to increase the through-put and responsibilities of the team and they now look after a number of core applications and services including PCI/DSS card payment. Although our main customer is internal I have also worked directly with a number of key external customers such as Porsche, Jaguar / Land Rover and the VW Group.
