Biography

Chad Cray started his professional career in the U.S. Army where he quickly learned the value of working on computers instead of digging foxholes. After leaving the Army, he joined L3 Communications as a systems engineer, and provided mobile training support to the U.S. Navy. During this time, he completed his Master’s degree in Information Systems Management. Next, he joined OGSystems as a software developer, and worked his way into an IT Management position within that company. While at OGSystems, he pursued his interest in agile software development, and set his IT team on a course for becoming a proficient Scrum team. More recently, Chad has worked for Ball Aerospace as a program manager for a government project designed to work within the Scrum process.

Project Manager and ScrumMaster for the Enterprise Search & Integration Services (ES&IS) team. This team is comprised of two scrum teams, both working on software deliverables for a government customer. I provide a minimal amount of traditional project management support to the government customer and focus on keeping the team running in an agile environment. I work with the product owners of both teams, as well as both developoment teams, to ensure that they are following the scrum practices. I also facilitate all of the standard scrum meetings for both teams.

This project was purchased from OGSystems by Ball Aerospace in January 2013, which is why the same desciption exists in both places.
