I graduated from Dartmouth College with a BA in Engineering Sciences modified with Economics. During my education, I played varsity football, started a band, and completed a 2 year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
After graduating, I joined a small start-up company called Trike Studio, based in Draper, UT. I did business and market analysis, and was responsible for developing an eCommerce, CMS, and social media platform for the customer-facing webpages of our two consumer product brands. I developed the platform using Ruby on Rails and Merb, and during this experience, I gained an appreciation for Agile methodologies.
I left Trike Studio to take a position with Booz Allen Hamilton doing enterprise-scale system deployments for Federal Government clients. I saw how large systems were developed in the industry, and dramatically deepened my appreciation for Agile in general and Scrum in particular. I pursued and was awarded my CSM certification.
I currently work as a Software Developer on the Product Team at Cognitect, Inc. (http://cognitect.com), a truly agile and technically cutting-edge software product and consulting company. We build the language Clojure (http://clojure.org), the database Datomic (http://datomic.com), lots of cool open-source, and custom software solutions to our clients' hardest information problems.
