Knowledgeable on core Hadoop, and have a clear understanding of the underlying technologies and platform characteristics. Communicate to customers, at various technical and business levels, the fundamentals for Hadoop deployments, to include initial hardware/software installation, data ingestion/ETL, data storage/partitioning, data processing and analytics, business integration and production readiness. In addition, SDMs are able to drive customer scoping conversations, in terms of technology, business value, organizational change, and customer requirements, and transfer that knowledge into a comprehensive and well-organized engagement roadmap/project plan for all stages of Hadoop / Big Data adoption.
• Works directly with Cloudera Account Executives, Sales Engineers and Solution Architects to conduct resource planning, scheduling and assigning relevant Cloudera resources for Customer (including SA, SE, Trainers) when needed.
• Works directly with Customer to ensure both Customer and Cloudera are well aligned with initial outreach, requirements gathering and scoping, Cloudera resource allocation and consulting deployment timeline.
• Communicates job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing consulting contributions (during and post delivery) and documents deliverables (recommendations/best practices, etc) to share with Customer post consulting.
• Forecasts requirements; preparing scheduling expenditures (outlined in SoW) and initiates corrective actions and/or change orders if/when necessary.
