As an experienced Project Manager with over fifteen years experience working with leading businesses across Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Alan started in IT as a developer, then moved through team leader to Project Manager, with Business Analyst tasks throughout. Alan has gained broad exposure across complex IT transformation projects, playing a leading role in managing the development and integration of business critical projects using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
His passion for the Agile methodology, and the firm belief he holds in the positive outcomes it can deliver for development teams, has been the driving force behind Alan’s campaign to help businesses understand and adopt this incredibly powerful approach. His recent leadership appointments, including working as a Scrum Iteration Manager has allowed Alan to work with multiple clients and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent and reliable rollouts in the delivery of cloud (SaaS) web products.
With experience managing software delivery projects end to end, throughout the complete SDLC, Alan has implemented small to medium software and integration rollouts, including international system replacement projects. As a capable stakeholder manager with an excellent ability to work consultatively to understand goals, objectives, requirements and priorities, Alan utilises high level communication and presentation skills to work effectively with business and technical teams, based locally and abroad.
Adept at budget management and task tracking, Alan has lead development projects and teams, maintaining a clear view of progress towards key milestones, whilst also staying within budgetary parameters. Through close collaboration with each organisation and their stakeholders, Alan is able to identify critical risk issues before they surface, avoiding potential disasters during roll out.
Away from the office, Alan is a keen runner, motorcyclist, traveller and chef – passions that he’s indulged in for over 20 years. With an appetite for business improvement and a desire to drive teams to realise their full potential, Alan is a catalyst for change, with a reputation for thinking outside the box to achieve outcomes.
