Lisa W. Hershman, Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Lisa W. Hershman is an internationally published author and recognized thought leader in business transformation. As Acting CEO of Scrum Alliance, Lisa serves as a global ambassador for Scrum, the fastest-growing, most popular Agile framework in the world. She facilitates teams within Scrum Alliance that are transforming the world of work, and is a conduit for collaboration among Scrum Alliance, its trainer and coach community, and its hundreds of thousands of members worldwide.
Hershman is the founder of The DeNovo Group, a global consulting, training and research firm focused on leadership and innovation through process management and redesign focusing on the customer experience. She brings a wealth of real-world knowledge and an innovative style to her work with clients who range from household names in the Fortune 500 to the U.S. Department of Defense.
She is also the former CEO of Hammer and Company, where her practical experience and engaging style led to her selection as the successor to Dr. Michael Hammer, the MIT icon internationally known as a best-selling author and founder of the field of business process reengineering.
As the co-author of “Faster Cheaper Better: The 9 Levers for Transforming How Work Gets Done,” Hershman collaborated with Hammer, blending her real-world experience with his theories to complete what was to be his final book. Hershman has been featured in BusinessWeek, Forbes and Fox Business News, as well as a number of nationally syndicated business radio programs and Investors Business Daily.
Lisa previously served as Senior Vice President of Operational Excellence at Avnet, the world’s largest B2B distributor of electronic components and computer equipment.  As the executive in charge of customer experience, her work was honored with the Corporate Chairman’s Award. Earlier in her career, she honed her skills with General Electric, where she managed a portion of the Seawolf submarine program.
Hershman’s civic engagement includes serving as the 2017 Chairwoman of the Scrum Alliance. She is also a commissioner on the Indiana Commission for Higher Education and a member of Ball State University’s Miller School of Business Entrepreneurial Education Advisory Council. Hershman earned her engineering and industrial distribution degree from Clarkson and has studied innovation with MIT and IMD.
